Online Permits
The easiest way to obtain your permit is by booking online from
Fishing Around the Forth.
The Fishing Around the Forth web site also has comprehensive guidance on how to fish the river Tyne.

Physical Permits can be purchased from the following locations

Catch Returns
If you have purchased your permit online you will receive a link with your permit to complete your catch return online.
If you have purchased a physical permit you will receive a physical catch return. Please remember to complete this at the end of the season. The catch return provides valuable data to help us monitor the health of the river the fishes that live in it.
If you cant find your catch return you can complete online.
Please remember to insert your permit number if using this option.
Regulations
2024 Season
The Association supports the Recommended Code of Practice issued by the Forth and District Salmon Fishery Board:
1. Fish to be taken for personal consumption and not sold.
2. Catch & Release of sea trout is strongly advocated, but a bag limit of 1 fish per day applies
3. All salmon to be released unharmed throughout the season
4. All sea trout to be released after 26th August
5. Permits to be carried when fishing
6. Catch and release record to be compiled immediately and to be a condition of renewal to fish.
No more than 2 brown trout may be retained on any day. • All trout under 20cm (8") must be released
No Sunday fishing for migratory fish
Sunday fishing for brown trout is restricted to those locations marked on the ELAA fishings map
No fishing for 25 metres below weirs
Farm access must not be blocked at any time
Spinning is prohibited
Treble hooks are prohibited
Fishing (including bait fishing) may only be carried out with single fly rod, fly reel and fly line
Bait fishing may only be carried out with worms, maggots or grubs
When fishing, the rod must be kept in your hand
No fires
This permit is not transferable and does not cover:
Orchard beat (from the A199 road bridge to the steps on the footpath on the north bank) Herdmanston Mains beat (FDSB code TY27)
The Committee reserves the right to refuse sale of a permit to anyone and to withdraw any permit sold.
